Jack’s Caregiver Coalition:

Mission Statement: Improve the way guys think, feel, and act through every phase of their caregiving journey.

Who Jack’s Serves: Anyone 18 and older who has cared for a loved one facing a health crisis. This includes anyone who has lost their loved one as well as anyone whose health crisis is currently in remission. While the purpose of our work is centered on guy caregivers (anyone who identifies as a guy), we also offer a variety of coed programming opportunities.

Let’s face it. Caregiving is a colossal challenge. It’s not just hard. It’s probably the hardest thing you’ll ever do.

FACTS:

78% of guys caring for a spouse/partner report having no help from others.

72% of guy caregivers report their caregiving experience was moderately stressful and 23% of Americans report caregiving made their health worse.

44% of guy caregivers reported moderate to high financial strain because of caregiving.

Maybe you’re wondering how to talk to your kids about cancer. Maybe you no longer feel confident about the financial and legal decisions you’re making. Maybe you can’t remember the last time you laughed. The good news is, you’re not alone. Jack’s Caregiver Coalition connects you with others who have successfully navigated this exact same terrain. From 1:1 connections with other caregivers to talking with a healthcare navigator, to attending a kick ass roll-out-the-red-carpet event (do I hear Whirlyball, Axe throwing, Tank driving, and Skydiving?) to Firepit Fridays, Caregiver Klatch meetings, coed & family programs, and more! Jack’s is always here for our caregiver community.

“The Jack’s Caregiver Klatches remain so important to me and integral as a support mechanism in my own journey as a caregiver to my wife Cassie. I continue to stay involved in the Klatches because of the people I meet and the sense of community it provides. I also learn so much!” -Dan Cramer

“This caregiver role is no easy task. Having to take care of someone is tough, trust me I wouldn’t want to take care of me. Jack’s is a place for my husband to go to fit in. These guys understand each other, they all can relate in some sort of way. It truly is a blessing for my husband to be able to be a part of Jack’s.”-Ashley Schepers
